Simulators at SkySim Labs
We currently offer two complementary training devices in our Kirkland facility: theSkySim Trainer for cost‑effective proficiency practice, and the One‑G Foundation 1000, an FAA‑approved AATD for loggable training and instrument currency tasks.
One‑G Foundation 1000
Cessna 172 G1000
An Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) designed for realistic training and loggable experience as approved by the FAA. Best for training with an instructor or solo instrument currency.
- Log time and tasks per FAA allowances (e.g., dual received training, instrument approaches, holds, and more).
- Realistic flight controls and avionics emulation with instructor‑driven scenarios.
- Ideal for training towards a rating, instrument currency, avionics familiarization, and practicing abnormal/emergency procedures.
- Available 24/7 for instructor and student use after completing a checkout.

SkySim Trainer
Our in‑house trainer for unlimited practice. Over time this will be able to more closely replicate more of the airplanes and instrument panels you fly. Unlike an AATD, it can be readily reconfigured. Use it to practice VFR or IFR flying, flows, radio work, and instrument procedures such as departures/arrivals, holds, and instrument procedures all without burning avgas. It’s perfect for keeping your skills sharp between flights and pairing with the AATD for loggable sessions when needed.
- Excellent for VFR and IFR proficiency—pause, repeat, and debrief quickly.
- Great for chair‑flying checklists and cockpit flows to speed up aircraft time.
- Available with or without an instructor -- bring your instructor along anytime you like.
- Complements the AATD: practice here, then log time on the Foundation 1000 (or in your airplane).
